Puja is coming. The Puja Adda has already started. The pandal erection is going on in full swing. A lot of hard work is being put in by the participants of the cultural programme. Everybody is trying to give their best shot. All the kids of the complex are extremely busy - running from one rehearsal to the other. The ladies are doing a very good job of managing their daily routine and then spend considerable amount of time for the rehearsal. 

Chanda collection is going on. We should be able to beat the collection of last year if all of us come forward.

Lot of things need to happen between now and then to make the Puja a grand success. So far, the participation has been luke warm at best. Most of the residents still do not feel a part of it. Not sure what needs to be done to make them participate voluntarily. I guess, lot of folks are still trying to crack this puzzle. 

If any of the readers' crack it, please let us know........

Nano

Nano.....supposed to mean smaller than small. It is turning out to be bigger than mega. The whole world is watching a sleepy town called Singur. This is where all hell is breaking loose. What did we do to deserve this?
Firstly, the current ruling party did whatever they could to drive the industry out of Bengal. In the last couple of years, we have seen a marked change in their philosophy and their drive towards attracting more investment in West Bengal. However, someone had to play spoilsport. The opposition did just that.
Secondly, the land losers', they are waiting for the project to start off. They have been waiting eagerly for it. Does the opposition feel that they can ask the farmers to start farming the land even if the land is given back to them?
Feeling totally fraustrated...........

thanks a lot for inviting me, definitely we will have a good time in this virtual coffee house, good to start a fresh.....in a simple way and make it understand to all common.. then among other activities it can also become a platform for Music,Literature and Art lovers where we can exchange our ideas,experiences and nourish the creative side but not from the dictionary -it should be delivered from your inner core.

Beyond the Obvious

Hello Folks,

Good that Pinaki has set it up. Or by the noise some of the previous mails on the apex group emailbox, it felt like some of us were creating a lot of consternation amongst Greenwoodians. While filibustering and chutzpah is dimmed as contributory in nature, a dose of fresh ideas are often perceived to be overt tresspassing into our moral and intellectual parts. Not the least when the recepient is as cultured a species as a bong.

Talking about Greenwoodians the first reaction that this non convergant bloke has is can we have a workshop on Blink:The Power of Thinking Without Thinking, a new approach to decision making by Malcolm Gladwell. Looking at th last couple of years, as well as our surrounding,

LEt me explain. I have a feeling this Shrachi vs IPMSL vs Greenwoodians war of attrition is never ending with neither parties relenting, or finally throwing his hat. At least we can do so by just talking over the reign (or the ruins) of our condiminium from shrachi and move on, with the right kind of persons to take charge of the duties. The COST (whatever that may be) would in intermeidate run can be covered. But we must show Shrachi that we are intelligent, smart, are aware of their short deliveries. Folks these unprofessional buggers with zero legacy in construction got this place because of their proximity to a political organization. If we are not ready to go to courts (does not make sense now), or are too uncertain whether consumer forum will inflict the right amount of justice in the whole show, then why even carry on like this. The registered members must take this forward with Shrachi.

A lot socio-technical mumbo jumbo happens everytime we meet (inside our prized lounge), and it seems we almost always are content to express (repeat) our views without the stalemate being dethroned.
Dude you may be extremely talented and balanced, but if you lack speed, you will be stranded.

Looking at the average Greenwoodians it seems his speed of thought is directly proportional to the speed of road repair in adjoining areas of Kolkata (we live in 24 PGS, technically).

Enough intro on the purpose of this blog. Its time to flow, dude.

So wait, till I have my next write-up on the KULTURAL capital ready.

Why is Timepass so important

At times it is really fraustrating to read all the mail exchanges in the mail group. But most of the time, it is hilarious and "Timepass". I am not just talking about the jokes shared with the group. Sometimes, I get a good laugh when I just see the various kinds of mails floating by.
Another aspect of this is that we also get to know about lot of different view points on a topic. Not necessarily, we need to react adversely or otherwise. At times, it is very important to put in your views as well. Not because rest of the folks care to know what you think, but is important to let your views known anyway. Why?

It acts as a stress buster. Try it out at work. Works like a charm. Even blogging for that matter works well to relieve stress. I have tried it out. Suppose, you are engrossed in a tough situation at work and you are feeling helpless. In this kind of a situation, try expressing your views on a totally unrelated subject - like commenting on this blog that I am writing or expressing your views on why Barack Obama should or should not win the next US presidential election - and see. Most of the time, it works like a charm......

Pujo - 2008

The Puja is round the corner. The preparations have just started in Greenwood Nook. After endless rounds of discussions, the Greenwoodians have finally managed to get their acts together. The things have started to move. We have a huge challenge ahead of us. We have an enormous amount of money to collect through advertisements and sponsorships.
The good part of it is that, the process has already started. People are coming forward and stepping up to the plate. Let us see how far can we go.
We have set pretty high standard for ourselves. We will have to live up to it. And............in true Greenwood Nook style, we will celebrate it with all the pomp and gay as we did last year.

So far........the advertisement forms have been distributed. Some money is already being raised.
